Existing social structures, such as the nuclear family, are vastly superior to all hypothetical alternatives. Given the success of these structures over the past several hundred thousands years, there is not much room for experimentation. We can't change everything.pic.twitter.com/0didRr2NmX

Haha. I'm sure! Just like how racism "appeared" in the Euro colonial era 🤣https://twitter.com/ztsamudzi/status/1003328071347261440 …

Enlightenment thinkers constructed and globalized, through the Euro colonial project, the racial assemblages and taxonomy rooted in eugenicist biologies that contoured race as a legal, scientific, political, social nexus. So yes they “invented” racism as we understand it today. pic.twitter.com/4B0dMW0Iq7

No, racism is pretty old. But the nuclear family requires a bourgeois organization of economic production such as was first seen in the mid 19th. Aristocratic cultures such as 17th cent. France, classical Rome & Greece know nothing even remotely similar to the nuclear family.

I'm pretty sure it just requires a parcel of farmland. Probably pushes back your argument a few thousand years.

Classical ignorance of history in favor of idealized fetishism. 17th century sources (with which you must not be familiar) show familial organization to which the nuclear family is absolutely alien. For 16th cent example, see how Montaigne was raised.
