Tireless devotion to self-discipline and professionalism, thriving in the most difficult environment. Appreciation isn't sufficient. Admiration is more appropriate. For another year, you've held it together. And held us together, too. Thank you, Teachers.

The most important form of group work in schools is the one between teachers. Everybody working together as a team to build a culture of high expectations results in safe and enjoyable learning. 49 teachers who prefer to do their own thing is not my idea of professionalism.

The problem with New Year's Resolutions comes from our disappointment on January 2nd. We look to continue our great idea on Day #2 and realize that we are still on step 1 in an instruction manual that has dozens of pages. #selfcare

Teacher retention: if you want to keep the best teachers, treat them like they are the best. Few teachers leave an environment where they feel valued, supported, appreciated, and treated like professionals. This is more important now than ever!

A wonderful take on professionalism by : "The professionalism of the teacher is tested by how successfully they can display authority without being authoritarian." #teachertwitter #edchat

If we want more effective differentiated instruction in classrooms, we should be providing more effective differentiated professional development to help teachers achieve it. And in most cases, there are teachers present in a faculty with that expertise to share. #edchat

From a 2006 study in Singapore that analyzed the determinants of teacher professionalism, the understatement of the century, thus far. There is a vast potential of know-how available within the teaching profession which is not tapped at present.
