This is a problematic contradiction. It will hold back the enthusiastic early/mid-career folks who have been eager to contribute to one of the most important documents in planetary science (the "bible" as per Jim Green). (2/7 )

So what do I do? Do I lead compelling white papers, or do I hedge my bets and avoid first authorship with the hope that it'll make me selectable for decadal panels? (3/7 )

Really hoping the approach to the Decadal Survey gets revamped after the discussion today at ... participation early/mid-career folks should be facilitated, not hindered, by panel and payment policies.

I'm looking forward to more space missions that deorbit old satellites and rocket stages to clean up our act and to prevent the doomsday Kessler syndrome in near-earth space. two satellites avoid collision -

Governments, corporations, and international partnerships absolutely must start cleaning up space junk if we're going to put this many satellites, aka space junk targets, in space. via

One great thing about 's Artemis program is that it learns from decades of failed space policy! Let's go to the Moon and learn to live off the land there before going to Mars!

this is fantastic news for scientists wanting to fly with their payloads into space without having to become a NASA astronaut. NASA to allow researchers to fly on commercial suborbital vehicles -
