Think about this –– teachers will need 180 hours to renew their teaching license so they can teach your kids, but only up to 24 hours of training to carry a gun around them.
That is insane.

What’s insane is that they need to carry a gun at all. My daughter is in college studying to be a teacher. Is her coursework now going to include firearms training? Think of how ridiculous that thought is.

It is INSANE I need a license I have to renew every 5yrs (and pay for additional training!) and pay for my own background checks (state and federal) to TEACH, but nothing to carry & shot a GUN! The license is about MONEY and no license is about NRA!

I’d like to know if there are actually Ohio teachers that are even comfortable with the idea of carrying a gun while teaching in a classroom. I think this is not the smartest idea.

I went through an armed teacher training years ago .. it’s intensive and probably more mentally demanding than physically . I survived a school shooting and still struggled with that decision you would never want to make .

Imagine what their insurance costs may be with that responsibility put upon them. Shooting the wrong person… and how emotionally defeats ting that would be on top of everything else.
