So my question is: What exactly does Roku’s approval process look like for the Roku store? And why am I able to watch Infowars on not one - but TWO - separate apps on this platform? (Infowars also streams on Klowd.TV, available on Roku)

But more importantly, I am able to watch Infowars (which is listed as “The Alex Jones Show”). This is curious. In 2019, Roku officially banned Infowars from its platform.

Now I’m heading over to the new app. This one pushes me by default to channels like: •Donald Trump •TateSpeech (Andrew Tate’s channel) •Lauren Chen Very on brand for the “free speech” platform.

You won’t find any baby or cat videos here though. The app primarily pushes disinformation, including Charlie Kirk, Benny Johnson and Dan Bongino.

I downloaded the first of these apps - “Rumble” - to see these cute cat videos. I learned that this app will be deprecated (aka removed) soon as they complete migration to RumbleTV.

As of today, there are two Rumble channels on Roku. 👉🏽RumbleTV launched on Apr 18 2022 as “24/7 streaming” of the “hottest viral videos” incl. “inspirational videos, fails, cute babies.” 👉🏽Rumble launched on Feb 1 2023 as an “open video platform” feat. over 250k videos.

The other relevant thing is that Google also prevents traffic, as an aggregator. Site A publishes content (weather, news, stock prices...), Google shows the content on the SERP itself, so web denizens don't even need to visit Site A. Therefore, no eyeballs, no ad$ to the creator.
