My hope is that there will be national and international media coverage shedding light on the needless numbers of amputations + deaths due to the cold happening each year in Winnipeg... due to the profound lack of ‘available to all’ emergency shelter. Stay tuned.

Wondering if the $100,000 for the planned sculpture for Faron Hall by former Winnipeg Mayor Sam Katz was ever created. Are there media members in Winnipeg who followed this story who know? (His friend was public about wanting the funds to construct a new shelter.) thank you

Hi , I know you’re from Winnipeg, where perhaps more people freeze to death under the radar than any other Canadian city. I am working with across the miles to raise awareness to stop these tragedies. Are you interested in helping us raise awareness too?

Although it closed circa 2007, Jack's Place on Main St. (formally named Neeginan) saved so many lives in winter by allowing intoxicated people in. The Exec Director was heartbroken Jack's had to close for Siloam (dry shelter) to get funding to open.

I think its absurd that this kind of data exists elsewhere but absolutely no breakdown data for homeless in Nunavut. Our communities are small enough to collect such data.
