So, there's a pic going round of a police officer falling flat on his face. So, of course, *entirely as one would expect*, someone turned that image into a xmas tree, and a snowflake. Happy holidays! Source: TG

Today, my research takes me to the Casa Sperimentale in Fregene, just outside Rome. Built over 7 years by three architects from the same family, it's an extraordinary example of using a superstructure to engender greater freedom in design. Abandoned since 2004, it's now a ruin.

Excited to be speaking at two conferences in the spring, on radical municipalist approaches to architecture at Power at the Margins in March, and on greenwashing at the ACSA Intersections Symposium in June. Lots of writing to do!

I'm perplexed by the idea of major, architecturally significant memorials to victims of mass shootings, like the one planned for Orlando by Coldefy & Associes. It's not clear to me that it's the right thing...but it may be that there is no right thing

ADX Florence is the so-called "Alcatraz of the Rockies," where the US sends its most dangerous criminals. They spend years in extreme solitary confinement. This is what happens when they are released. My story :
