I've been thinking about buying a license (best git client I used so far), but it seems like using the trial is less restrictive (infinite, popups every once in a while) than actually buying it (activation, online DRM, machine count limit). Don't really get it..
Well, you should buy it if you want Fork to survive. You don't need to activate it (some users do this). I don't want to make the trial more restrictive and make other users nervous.

Just making the license work like WinRAR or Total Commander would be good enough. They simply use an RSA signed file with name & email in it, and blacklist leaks on update. It's offline, unintrusive, uncircumventable without tampering with the program (which would break updates).
