This is quite the rebuttal to Matt Walkers ‘why we sleep’ book. I’m inclined to agree with a lot of it, particularly the scaremongering. Anyone else read it and have any thoughts?https://guzey.com/books/why-we-sleep/?fbclid=IwAR3tNLTH_yXJdfiq3k_zc8tWXK-lO1NPSiebYviRxZmWKY0MuS5cwoqS0ag …

I read this yesterday on a separate thread, and am now intrigued to read the original book. I definitely think a lot of poor sleepers are half that way because of the pressure to "get a good night's sleep", and the fear associated with the ramifications of not getting one....

Really? I’m not! I watched him speak (on YouTube) and didn’t approve of his scaremongering! That was enough for me.

Not read the book but as a crap sleeper, I have been a sucker for the sleep scare-mongering in the past. @oliverburkeman 's article made me notice what now feels obvious - worrying makes it worsehttps://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2018/apr/20/cant-sleep-insomnia-identity …

Just read the first paragraph, as a family we would regularly have tea in front of the tele at 8pm at night, when I was growing up. That’s when we only had 4 channels, but that meant we would sit and talk, slept pretty good too 👍
