We tried so hard to get them a tent but we were told by the local authorities that they’re facing a severe lack of tents. Many families have still no shelters in Antakya & some other quake zones in Turkiye. There r shortages of clean water, basic food, blankets, menstrual pads…

Now we know that the earthquake lasted a minute. That’s why we felt it pretty long. It was as if the earth is not going to stop. Our building here in Beirut is strong yet I could hear weird noises from the walls

I’ve been desperately trying to find a tent for a family of 8 in Antakya. I’ve contacted AFAD. One pasted me to another. Then today we’re told there’s no tent left. It’s been 11 days now. They’ve been sleeping in a car in this cold. And I know there are thousands like this family

#Antakya…Over 50 percent of the buildings here are collapsed…Thousands still don’t have even a tent to stay in. Thousands are still under the rubble…Thousands are still praying for the miracles

It was great seeing them all smiling. Merve’s feet was stuck under the concrete and needed surgery. A bit concerning but the doctors have told us that they are hopeful that it will heal soon. They lost their mother and was lying next to her body for days under the rubble.

This used to be one of the main streets in downtown #Antakya. Not anymore! It took us more than two hours to reach an address that Google map was showing only a 7 minute walk from the square nearby. Devastated buildings have blocked most of the roads changing the city’s map
