1/25 Update thread on where NHS hospitals are at the moment, concentrating on 3 things: a) hotspot hospital admission rates. b) overall pressure. c) what this may mean for easing lockdown measures (spoiler alert - we will need a full, evidence based, debate given trade offs!)

Ich muss Mal etwas loswerden, was mich beschäftigt.

This photo is being wrongly claimed to show an immigration raid. It’s not. It’s the arrest of suspects allegedly involved in human trafficking. And, thanks to the decisions of & her colleagues, if these men are charged they will likely not be tried for several years

“We’re not getting the respect or pay we deserve. I’m sick of it. So I’ve handed in my resignation.” How awful. 's ICU nurse, Jenny McGee, is so disillusioned she's just quit the NHS. This govt doesn't 'love' the NHS - it's destroying us 😔

My mum (82) from Germany, married my British dad in 1965 & became a UK national. She has a UK passport & has lived in UK since the 80s. Yesterday she got a letter saying she has to apply for settled status or will lose nhs & pension & right to stay. This can't be? She's in bits!

So are the extensively researched, painstaking conclusions from the UN, Human Rights Watch, and B’Tselem (among the largest human rights orgs in the world and in Israel) considered “outbursts” too? Or is that just a descriptor MSN reserves for the women legislators quoting them?

UK in a precarious position w/ B.1617. We have tools to help stop spread. Get vaccinated, get tested (& isolate if you're positive), avoid crowded places, meet people outdoors, wear masks indoors & remember that the end is in sight, but we need to tread cautiously now.

Sicherlich. Wird Hamas massiv geschwächt sein? 1/

My mum has just worked as nurse throughout the pandemic, a year after qualifying. Got COVID at work. She recovered (we thank God) and went back to work. She's now decided to apply for a new role in a different setting and this is what was sent to her by the recruiter.
