As Yazidis feared further persecution, the international community failed to acknowledge the increasing religious intolerance and deteriorating stability in Iraq that would lead, seven years later, to ISIS’s genocide against the community.
Yazidis are attempting to recover not only from the horrors and devastation of ISIS’s genocide, but from decades of systematic marginalization and persecution.
