How does arresting drug dealers fuel a surge in overdoses? I personally believe the opposite (e.g., our giving out 15,000 needles a day and releasing all the dealers leads to overdoses).

our city government's persistent conflation of fentanyl addicts and dealers is so offensive. addicts = people suffering from a disease who deserve our sympathy, help, and btw SHELTER WOULD BE NICE
@sfbos. dealers = criminals responsible for murder who deserve to be in prison.3 replies 3 retweets 86 likes -
Replying to @micsolana @michelletandler and
not just basic dealers.organized dealers arrested multiple times in same year who are responsible for death & destruction of said addicts, not to mention terrorizing the streets for others. this guy is a joke and needs to go. i pledge my money and time to help with this. you in?

The big-time dealers are really hard to find because they take a lot of precautions to stay secure. It takes years and tons of police manpower to find these people. Then if you take one down, it makes no difference because there is a dozen others ready to move in.
