    The Tuesday before Christmas, Trump pardoned 4 frmr Blackwater security contractors convicted in a 2007 massacre of Iraqis. But he didn't pardon the fifth. He had pleaded guilty, cooperated and atoned. Says as much about Trump as it does about crime.

    Yeah, I too see the parallels, Wolfie, in that both were caused by racism-inflected incompetence by US leadership.

    I spotted these National Guard troops at a normal Washington street corner not even near the Capitol. So many streets have been closed. It reminds me of the war zones I saw in Baghdad or Mosul or Falluja. So sad.

    Passing refugee status to descendants is standard for Afghan, Burundian, Sudanese, Somali, Eritrean, Angolan, Syrian and other refugee populations. Just another sign of this administration’s unmitigated hatred for Palestinians and their rights.

    We suspended funding to UNRWA, which is riddled with waste, fraud & concerns of support to terrorism. UNRWA is not a refugee agency; it’s estimated <200,000 Arabs displaced in 1948 are still alive and most others are not refugees by any rational criteria.
