The most reliable cognitive enhancer we know of is.... nicotine. 🤷🏽‍♂️ (Were nootropics massively overhyped?)pic.twitter.com/LFAMftv2Le

Nootropics have always been defined as having basically zero cost which I think makes the vision hard to realize. Effective things are thrown in a separate bucket and tabooedhttps://twitter.com/backus/status/1038943981990625280 …

Agree. For your last statement, what are some examples? (eg. Microdosing?)

Nicotine, caffeine, amphetamine, modafinil, maybe Yohimbine for "stimulants, not nootropics" camp. Creatine for lifting? Psychedelics (microdosing or no) are tabooed but minds are changing in SV. Not sure whats up w/ Metformin and Memantine but look into it. tDCS probably

Yeah, this reminder is actually what ended my Nootropics phase (for the better!). More conscientiousness about exercising regularly, getting 8 hours of sleep, and eating well goes a long way. Also don't have to spend hours capping Piracetam pills every month

Anecdote =/= data, but I found piracetam underwhelming.
