Nice segment with
@mzjacobson &@KatyTurNBC. Bottom line: the cost of INACTION is far greater than the cost of ACTION--a simple truth that belies the primary argument used today by opponents to climate action... - Još 2 druga odgovora

You assume that California will reach 132 GW of onshore wind, up from roughly 6 GW today? That's incredible given California land restrictions and the fact that there is only about 4 GW of onshore wind capacity active in the CAISO interconnection queue.

It's a point in time World 600GW wind today 1996 world 6GW wind, up to 160 GW in 2009 = 13years California world's 5th largest economy - really not hard to build 130 GW by end of next decade 130GW needs ~3250km² (2.5 ha/MW?), California 423,970 km² (But IMO much will be offshore)pic.twitter.com/tKTypIN1iW

Do you want to start with efficiency gain to end-use demand or stating fuel costs and not intermittency costs? "Electrification plus modest efficiency measures may reduce California's end-use power demand ~44% and stabilize energy prices since WWS fuel costs are zero."
