In California, 98.8% of the K-12 student body are in schools that have closed, Gov. Newsom just said. To continue learning, Sacramento is distributing detailed guidelines for curricula, including through PBS. “Its a reason we should support public broadcasting," Newsom said.

He said it is unlikely that any schools (few if any) will open before the summer break. He said state won't require standardized testing and is confident s federal waiver from testing will be supported.

Newsom on remain in place orders that are likely coming to more counties soon: “They call for no gatherings, that doesn’t mean that within your own social set, your own family, you cant have a barbecue,” or take a walk. “People you're used to be being with, you should be with.”
