One aspect of our current politics I’m curious about is how much the GOP ppl actually believe their talking points. Cynically lying because it works politically is one thing, but if they are high on their own supply it’ll be a lot harder to extract ourselves from this.

Got that, everyone? Republican candidates can now break any laws they want in their campaigns, as long as the Trump regime thinks it is ok.

We will need to expect fake investigations against any serious opposition candidate. That is what pretty much all dictators do, and Trump is not only no different, he has openly announced his intention.

Extreme temperatures are driving a dramatic decline in bumblebees across North America and Europe, according to a new study. It's another way that climate change is putting ecosystems at risk.

This is 100% dictatorship. When the ruling party has veto power over any criminal investigations, they are above the law.

Heartbreaking. This brave doctor risked his freedom to tell the truth & save his countrymen. In Xi’s culture of fear, local officials were terrified to bring bad news to the top so they silenced him, delaying the nec response & allowing the deadly virus to spread.

Australia also has their own locusts.

Fun fact: we used to have locusts in North America. Massive, huge, California-sized swarms. But now they're extinct.

"Attack" isn't the word I'd use, but the sheer size of locust swarms is impressive.

Hell ants (from 99-78 million year old amber) are stranger than we ever imagined and now have their own subfamily (Haidomyrmecinae). Check out some of the oldest, weirdest ants that ever lived in a new descriptive paper. With Vincent Perrichot and Bo Wang:

Bad stuff. Trying to hide an outbreak in its early stages is a classic mistake--and deadly. RIP a good doctor caught in the crossfire.

I'd be willing to bet this is *normal* for caucuses, given their structure, and we're only seeing it now because our technology allows better reporting and transparency of the process.
