The new #YouTube Partner Program policy only further hurts smaller channels instead of helping them grow. A channel I have had monetized for years with over 600 subs and almost 400k views is now no longer eligible thanks to the change. @YouTube @YTCreators

Smaller channels can still grow–monetization doesn't impact how videos appear in search or how they're promoted/recommended across YouTube. Also, creator features and tools like custom thumbnails, live streaming, etc are still available.

The updated policy is also encouraging sub 4 sub just to keep monetization. Just look around at what people are posting now to promote their channel versus before. Additionally, if the policy keeps changing dramatically, I loose more and more trust in @YouTube #youtube
