The new #YouTube Partner Program policy only further hurts smaller channels instead of helping them grow. A channel I have had monetized for years with over 600 subs and almost 400k views is now no longer eligible thanks to the change. @YouTube @YTCreators

Smaller channels can still grow–monetization doesn't impact how videos appear in search or how they're promoted/recommended across YouTube. Also, creator features and tools like custom thumbnails, live streaming, etc are still available.

I understand we can still upload, use some features, etc, but this is still harmful to small channels. I did not make much, but it still helped to make something compared to zero when my editing software alone costs money. It is also mentally discouraging.
