    This kind of ornament was mass produced towards the end of the 19th century and all but the very poor could aspire to having one on their mantle piece. Her features are delicately painted and children were often employed at the potteries for this. Found on Monday

    This is a really interesting question framework to look at for re/developing workshops (digital or physical). Could be good if you are looking at engaging with post colonial impacts, or helping schools redevelop their curriculums too.
