    The sweetest mystery!

    So there was a MYSTERY at the library today. A wee old women came in and said "I've a question. Why does page 7 in all the books I take out have the 7 underlined in pen? It seems odd." "What?" I say, thinking she might be a bit off her rocker. She showed me, and they did.

    To women who have less trouble advocating for yourselves: advocate and speak up for the women who don't feel comfortable doing so. To men who see bad-ass, smart women doing awesome things: amplify them, it costs you nothing.

    Trying to decide about teaching myself (limited but free) versus taking a certificate program (more comprehensive, less free) for a specialized topic that I'm not sure how much I'll use past this job but is a good skill to have in the toolbox

    Another great thread!

    I keep coming back to this aspect of the piece: that ostensibly female scientists doing our thing on social media is objectionable because we're "a very narrow representation of femininity" and apparently mostly document our "cute outfits" and "sweet smiles" (1/n)

    Another great thread from a social media

    This op-ed seeks to dictate how women should correct systemic issues, which is hypocritical and punching down. The article reads as bitter & spreads the false dichotomy that researchers who do things outside of the lab are bad scientists. 0/10.
