        On a similar note to both of these, a while ago I switched back to my old Nokia N95 after my iPhone died. Fired up Google Maps, and for a brief moment, it marked my location as at a remote crossroads in NZ where I’d last had it open, lost on a road trip at least a decade before.

        Every time my friends and I play Nintendo WiiU/Wii/3DS games we see a lot of our old Mii avatars. Some are 10 years old and of a time. Amongst them is a friend who passed away a few years back. It's always so good to see him. It's as if he's still playing the games with us. 😢

        The iTunes sync page shows a grid of shiny candied apps (some a decade old!) that no longer exist on the store but have somehow remained stored on my computer, waiting to be synced back to an OS that will no longer support them.

        To remember where I parked my car in underground parking, I take a picture of it in context to its surroundings. I now have over 100 pictures in an album which are just my car in different lots, some evoking significant memories, others lost to time...

        A friend of mine requested FB to delete her account if she died, so they did. They also wiped every message she sent. If I open the conversation now it's 8 years of me and blank spaces. Including the message she sent shortly before taking her own life. I don't think that's right.

        And one extra vote for old mobile Safari tabs - when I did a cleanout a couple months ago, I was thrown into a history of my trip to Japan far more specific than my photo library could have told it - hours for small restaurants, personal sites of musicians I met with, etc.

        OS X Photo booth. We all played with it when it came out. Lots of us showed it to kids. Mine is full of goofy photos from friends with young families visiting. The photos are forgotten are until you accidentally use spotlight to load Photo booth instead of iPhoto!
