Marcin, you made no effort to clarify anything. You came out of the gate quoting my tweet to all your followers implying I have an "algorithm" and that I blatantly & immediately disqualified anyone who'd held multiple jobs in a short period of time. Neither of which are true.https://twitter.com/mwichary/status/994977799327825920 …

How can civil discourse happen when you come out of the gate making accusations? I'm legitimately curious about that. Why not just reply with a "Hey man, the tone of your tweet *seems* to imply X, Y, Z...is that what you're meaning?"

The tone of my tweet reflected the tone of yours, and the way you saw my tweet is the way many people saw yours. I think the disconnect is that you don’t see your tweet as something offensive and damaging that can be enraging. Other people did, and they have good reasons for it.

I think the context that made them/me see it this way – a white guy making a statement we know perpetuates tech and design to be filled with white guys and no one else – is the crux of this issue and worth investigating.

So is the side effect that I (another white guy of certain seniority) felt comfortable calling you out on it, but many people in imbalanced situations you describe – e.g. hiring – won’t be.
