A very subtle thing: the fire extinguishers are mounted at wheelchair height and behind a door that is not secured with anything more than some magnets. No glass to break.pic.twitter.com/3AXyNEdsZE

Same with the AED. I usually see these mounted around 5 feet above the floor so it is eye level with an upright adult. If this is not intentional, it's a happy accident.pic.twitter.com/KxRDr6IWPH
Basically, go to the Apple Park Visitor's Center if you want to see how to design a building for maximum disabled access when cost is no object.
I have a question about your use of “when cost is no object.” Do you mean other companies cheap out and don’t do the right things, or is Apple doing things in unnecessary expensive ways?
Little of column A, little of column B. I had no insight into the development process, I just know that they spent a goddamn fortune on what is basically a gift shop.
Full disclosure: I am not physically disabled. I'm just a guy who notices stuff. My family has been in the amusement park industry for two generations so I notice crowd control and accessibility features naturally.

We should be friends! https://twitter.com/mwichary/status/958979895882760193 … Are there any good blogs/articles about crowd control and stuff like that? I’ve always been interested in learning more.
Marcin Wichary added,
Here's a trick I tell people to start their journey into Weird Crowd Control Vision: from any trash can in a public space, you should have clear line of sight to at least one other trash can. This keeps people from having to carry/drop trash, and ensures navigation paths.
more of this! :)
