If you didn't see it on anyone else's cup, I suppose it's because you're clearly a foreigner. Side note: my Japanese Canadian cousin tried to order in English at a Japanese Sbucks and (of course) they didn't understand what she wanted

I once tried to order the Traveller size 'box' of coffee at Starbucks in Japan, but that's a US only thing. I showed them a picture of one, they'd never heard of it.
