I made a… surreal piece of video game art? https://aresluna.org/larrys-quest/ (Try to leave the screen!) I made it on the plane. Best part about all this was the person next to me just looking at me making this, visibly perplexed.

Wow indeed, and that must have been the inspiration for this classic Ariston ad? https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=YUVs7vXNZiw … (
@mrgan sent me this, the music is amazingly Gameboy Robocop’s title tune)4 replies 0 retweets 8 likes -
Wow, yeah, the sound effect groan when the guy falls off the chair/ladder is pretty strong evidence.

Holy lord, Tango is Polish (as am I), and I watched it a bunch of times as a kid, but I completely forgot about it.
@ironicsans pointed out the more contemporary version, Michel Gondry’s video for Kylie’s Come Into My Life: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=63vqob-MljQ …1 reply 0 retweets 4 likes -

(Now I want to make a meta video that takes all of these videos and repeats them creatively.)

The video is 15 years old. This is a good look at how it was done. (Interesting tidbit: the song had to be changed in order to work as evenly spaced loops).https://vfxblog.com/2017/11/14/olivier-gondry-on-the-making-of-kylie-minogues-come-into-my-world/ …

I love this bit. “I went straight to my computer and programmed a way to rotoscope faster. To this day, I can rotoscope ten times faster than any other rotoscoping programme.” I feel the ability to speed up things by automation is one of unsung heroes of creativity.
