(This is something keyboard-related and something I wanted to have for 15 years or so.)
Say hello to Canon Cat – a magical, forgotten machine from the late 1980s.pic.twitter.com/53XOnmYHsF
OH! I'm re-creating the keycaps to be reproduced for modern MX switches—trying to track down the font used for the modifers, any insight?
Off the top of my head, I only know Canon used this font on many keyboards. I’ll take a look later.
It's found as well on a bunch of Canon AP typewriters from the same era.
Yeah, I meant keyboards as in “electronic typewriters and computers alike.”
I have a sense that I’ve seen the answer somewhere, but I cannot find it now. :·(
Thanks for even spending a minute to dig into this— let me know if you find any clues or info!
It might be a cool project to try to recreate this font, if not available elsewhere.
Scanning the key caps, if they’re double shots, should give pretty good quality source material.
No luck in Identifont, opened a case here: https://www.myfonts.com/WhatTheFont/forum/case/1300962/ …
Please note that there are _two_ N glyphs! Present on some of the AP typewriters. Some even have both present on the same board
