Is there a page/document that chronicles the history of emoji particularly well?
Not really. Original Unicode proposal: http://std.dkuug.dk/jtc1/sc2/wg2/docs/n3681.pdf … Latest sets including Japanese carriers (HUGE): http://unicode.org/emoji/charts/full-emoji-list.html … ...
Emojipedia chronicles the history of the larger vendors, but omits the Japanese carriers. https://emojipedia.org/dizzy-face/ pic.twitter.com/U2SUPszGt8
