Weird double quote / @ swap. No idea why....
Nice call! But this was inherited from Teletype 33 and later terminal keyboards, and is not necessary unique to this Apple II. :·)pic.twitter.com/xCsSdictwf
I don’t think so!
The thing above the N key but also the G key with 'Bell'?
Nope! It’s kind of weird today indeed, but it was like that on all Apple II computers, and harkens back to the Teletype 33 keyboard…pic.twitter.com/2z8yWYG1aW
Return not on the home row.
That’s kind of weird today, but it was like this on all Apple IIs, as far as I know! Only updated on III (below) and later models of II.pic.twitter.com/CuCKbNUsfP
oh, it’s got the 0 at beginning of the numbered row. for binary input? did apple ii ever not have 0 and 1 like the old typewriters?
That damn Reset key right above Return was the cause of a lot of heartache. Folks would jam a washer in the key's spring to stop accidents.
Ha, yes! Apparently even Apple would do that in later batches, before they realized they could involve a modifier key.
