Oh wow, that is supremely strange! And somehow fitting for a crazy vaporware device
It’s kind of like a version of ADM-3A arrows on keys – trying to get two birds with one stone.
Totally makes sense as a mnemonic! BTW just ran across an entirely different Intellivision Keyboard Component mockup https://archive.org/stream/Mattel_Electronics_1984_Mattel_GB#page/n1/mode/2up/ …pic.twitter.com/rCONzePaAA
Ah, cool! I sometimes dream of arrows on the left.pic.twitter.com/mlvUdg27y2
Teletype Model 40? Maybe I'm wrong about the Intellivision keyboard… Maybe that was the one they actually produced? https://archive.org/stream/Intellivision_Computer_Module_Owners_Guide_1983_Mattel_US#page/n6/mode/1up/search/intellivision+keyboard …
They produced both, AFAIK. http://tedium.co/2017/04/27/video-games-keyboards-intellivision/ … + http://www.intellivisionlives.com/bluesky/hardware/ecs_tech.html …
And yes, T40! I love that keyboard. It feels so nice.
Imagine the feel of this chiclet-on-top-of-membrane accessory for the Atari 400. Maybe even worse than the PCjr? https://archive.org/stream/TV_Gamer_1984-07_Boytonbrook_GB#page/n11/mode/2up/ …pic.twitter.com/ugDEm0moLq
Ah, yeah, there are many keyboards worse to use than PCjr. :·) Spectrum had add on enclosure keyboards where keys pressed standard keys!
