They are now requesting that I pay the change fee in order to reschedule my flight. What should I do in this case?

I cannot even change the flight time because I wasn't the one who made the booking.

This is so awkward. I'm not a confrontational person when it comes to things like this so I hate being placed in these situations.

Really, I'm just insulted this conference doesn't value my attendance and contributions enough to pay a $150 change fee.

I had organizers book something once without confirming, with an 8-hour layover.

They refused to rebook, so I simply said that I refuse to come.

They quickly changed their mind, although it was still a pretty bad experience for me overall.

(The unprofessionalism extended to other aspects. I had to basically present without my slides. 0_O)
