Do you have any idea of the logic behind this? It seems so odd; keys striking a horizontal surface have gravity on their side!
I think the orientation of paper shouldn't really affect the movement of typebars, no? They still would do the same thing.
But they'd be doing it from a different angle if the paper is wrapped around a vertical roller. I just wonder what the logic was!
