I am curious about stations needing all of these dual names, and then having to go through contortions like above to fit them in.

Wouldn’t “Dublin” be much nicer and easier than “Dublin/Pleasanton”? (Or would that offend people of Pleasanton?)

Or could we just call it the Blue Line? That fits on every display.

@mwichary Agreed that PLSTN/SL is overkill. Not sure the trade off in visual v. semantic clarity with "Blue Line" is worth it though.

@colbay They would have to double down on this elsewhere. Maps, car marquees, station marquees, etc. See: London, Chicago, &c.

@mwichary Yep. Still feel like it'd be easier—esp for tourists—to quickly navigate by name of dest rather than a label they've to learn :·)

@colbay But why? You rarely go to a terminus. And, as someone pointed out, termini change, too.

@colbay I always found it weird to have to follow the line I choose to its eventual destination, and memorize that. :·)

@mwichary I'm just saying "Dublin" might be more meaningful more often than "Blue" but again, different trade-offs :·)

@colbay Just frustrated at America’s propensity to Throw Words At Things rather than realizing that our brains can handle other things, too.

@mwichary You know what would fix this problem? A little walk in the sunshine and an espresso. It's a beautiful day and lovely out. ☀️😉☕️
