Art1 by Richard Williams was an early program that enabled Frederick Hammersley, Katherine Nash, and others to produce pioneering computer art in the late 60's and early 70's. I built this repository to support running Art1 from the Fortran IV source code: https://github.com/ef1j/Art1 pic.twitter.com/bVp5XEDUpJ

The modified Art1 program is now Art11 as the two's complement of Art1 (being the year 2021). I'm also looking for high resolution scans of the IBM 1403 typeface in the > 600dpi range.

I'm going to try a few things before I bug you for a scan. :)

Feel free to reach out here, too, if you want scans. I can scan up to 4800dpi (optical). I should also see if some friends ever dug out that 40–50 year old printouts.

I guess why would I expect less from a type designer. :·D

Higher resolution scanning was just something I looked for before. Way before I returned to type design. Maybe also partially from photography aspects. (Was busy with a score study of Back to the Future, earlier.)
