They're an essential part to make future web typography better. Figma should be leading the way here.

If a site uses system UI fonts on macOS (I’m on Catalina), SF NS is used, and thus optical sizes are shown by default. That helps different sizes of text have subtle but useful design distinctions, especially via appropriate letter spacing.pic.twitter.com/zO5ULBshFc
