My friend @jfuchs inspired me recreating a wild touch screen keyboard from a 1989 Buick Renatta car, just so I could put it in my book.

I *do* wonder what would be the best keyboard here, given the limitations.
What’s so fascinating to me on the Reatta is that it NEARLY doesn’t have them. Think about it. If there’s touch, just show QWERTY? Obviously the touch resolution wasn’t there yet.
And then I wonder, could this display remove enough elements to create this space for each key? Could they have added a scroll to accommodate all characters? A sketchy touch keyboard is better than no touch keyboard.
