check out this soviet keyboard on ebay. I like the 5-by-6 numpad! https://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-RUSSIAN-Clicky-Data-center-mechanical-keyboard-KT-M10-wery-rare-1985y/174295726140 …pic.twitter.com/eYGts2kPIm

My GOD! The placement of the arrow keys seems almost maliciously counter-intuitive. @mwicharypic.twitter.com/FrjcWkXepv

They might mean to represent the opposite of what we assume today (moving the contents rather than moving the cursor).

If you have a window you want to scroll, you can always conceptualize it two ways: as moving the “virtual window” left, or as moving the content right. This is a similar issue as Mac OS’s “scrolling direction: natural” for trackpads.pic.twitter.com/2VRyHUkbTR

I imagine one set of arrow keys on this terminal could be a regular cursor/menu arrow keys, and the reversed set is window scrolling. (Even PCs has that, but it was buried under the Scroll Lock key.)

Still trying to get my head around this: In the "standard model" you have an up arrow to move the cursor up. You "go to" the content you want. In this "content model" you have a down arrow to move the content down. You "bring to you" the content you want.

To rephrase: In the "standard model" you have an up arrow to move camera up. In the "content model" you have a down arrow to move the content down.
