Is there a way to open links without using the tooltip? I.g. word/powerpoint has "ctrl-click"

Seems like you could do something for when nothing is selected. ⌘/Ctrl+Shift+Click? Or Space+Shift+Click?

Yeah, the worry is that those combinations can also appear in normal use (⌘ + ⇧ = add another item via deep click), and the misclick cost is so high here. I’ll admit I don’t know a solution yet. I just know many apps are doing it wrong, and I want to avoid their pitfalls.

Perhaps. But Figma has more tasks than web, and many other tools that had to marry editing and links into one experience had to employ similar measures. At any rate, we’re excited to see where people take links and how they age, and we’re always open to changing things!
