Nope. @mwichary you were definitely one of the people I had in mind when I tweeted this -- you're supposed to provide some answers.

Not so long ago I re-read “The design of everyday things” (which in some ways does that) and had this sad realization that we don’t even have that any more, since the book is so old. And then I had the same question you did, and couldn’t think of anyone.

😊 I've been wanting to revive this for a long time, just want to rethink the approach a bit. For reference:https://brianlovin.com/design-details

My dream for that kind of stuff would be to tie in into other areas: the laws of UX and ergonomics, accessibility, history, ethics, inclusiveness, meaning, etc. Let’s celebrate craft, but let’s also recognize (IMO) we’ve been coasting on craft alone for far too long.

(Brian, this is not a comment re: your blog. Just my dream. Probably started when reading Jef Raskin’s book and being inspired by its interdisciplinariness.)

I'm thinking of the parable of the blind men and the elephant. X people meet to discuss a product for 1 hour and then each one writes their own short blog post from their POV 24 hours later.

It could be like book club but for design/product crit. With a bit of curation of what topics you're going to cover before hand and bringing in experts to talk to different things like legal or accessibility.
