This is the third big project I worked on since joining @figmadesign. It was scary and exciting and tough and weird – and we’re not done yet! If I were to write a blog post talking about the process of getting this out, what would you be interested in knowing?https://twitter.com/figmadesign/status/1202618685795553280 …

I used this quite a bit today. It was a godsend for working with lists! One snag: I really wish the command+arrowkey resizing still worked on auto layout items.

It should! Can you tell me in more detail what you’re trying to do?

🙂 Sure! I love the keyboard shortcuts to quickly resize selected elements by a small/big nudge using Command plus an arrow key, with Shift as a modifier. It’s second nature. But, I’ve found that once an element is an auto-layout frame, I can no longer resize in this way.

In auto-layout, I assume this function might have to work by distributing the resize between available margins. It’s hard to say exactly how that ought to happen (should it round or float?) but I hope that doesn’t prevent the possibility.

You can still do this if you “relax” auto layout in one of the axis (by toggling auto width to fixed width, for example). But that’s only available in one of the axes so far.

Oh woah, okay! I’ll have to dig back in to see if there’s a hotkey for relaxing a dimension. Thanks!

No hot key, yet. Although we could consider doing it automatically if you’re using ⌘ arrows to resize.
