So all ya FB haters who apparently I follow here on the Twitter, legitimately and honestly: Can you help me understand why you hate FB so much? What am I missing? (If you can, please provide references to big claims :–)

Right, it’s not a perfect mirror. I think it might be the highest fidelity one we ever had. I certainly think that the broadcast era had more warping, because the Cronkites edited it for a narrative. Now question: is it good to have a better mirror? I don’t know that.

Okay, so it’s not perfect. So maybe the blame is deserved after all? I think you’re not noticing how your original soundbite’y tweet might actually be offending people whose livelihoods were damaged or destroyed by Facebook’s irresponsible decision-making.

It’s hard for me to imagine going to Myanmar and saying “Facebook is just a mirror that showed you how awful you were all along,” given Facebook people themselves admitted their platform was a catalyst.
