Yeah, but type-writers were huge, hence type-writing manuals were huge. I would expect these fonts to appear rather quickly to satisfy publishers. And in fact, printers being the crafty people they were could probably convert an actual typewriter into a workable font.

Your finds keep leading me to new things to search for. This takes us to 1883 (middle of right column): https://books.google.com/books?id=Q9VBAQAAIAAJ&pg=PA183&dq= …"pica+type-writer"&hl=en&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwiZ4aO1v8bhAhUnVd8KHVMaD5oQuwUILDAA#v=onepage&q="type-writer"&f=false

Hilarious to me that I missed meeting you at the 2016 TypeCon, because I was so underwater with work and stress, I didn't even go! SVC is where I had my 2017 residency, and then I went to Hamilton 2017 and TypeCon (in Portland) in 2018!

The unplaned type is a semi-bad idea even then! It would wear your type or even potentially break it, or damaged your tympan drawsheet (not expensive, but still a pain to load and get packed properly).
