I was talking about @Readmill earlier today, and realized how much I missed it. There was no better digital reading experience. It's been almost exactly five years to the day since they closed, and reading on screens has stagnated. No one is innovating here.

They did justify type, but they also (bless them) used paragraph indentation instead of blank lines, and I remember their justification being more akin to LaTeX than Kindke's river of whitespace.

Where they didn't do well: you could only read ePub, and you had to import manually. It wasn't difficult, but the lack of a store or ability to compete directly with the Kindle store made it tricky to onboard unless you saw the benefit was worth the effort.
