(I’m sort of bragging because I want you to send me a keyboard I won’t be able to recognize!!!)
((Which I realize still sounds like bragging.

Marcin Wichary @mwicharyReplying to @larsbrinkhoffLooks like a Tektronix 4002A terminal. Perhaps the screen frame was blacked out, but the shape, the bezel, and the white accents on the keyboard are a dead giveaway. https://terminals-wiki.org/wiki/index.php/Tektronix_4002 … pic.twitter.com/udRKdUXMvx2 replies 0 retweets 11 likesShow this thread -

OK, clearly the problem is that everyone is sending you retro-cool keyboards from an era when each was unique. Let's see how you fare with some 21st century mid-range numbers (AKA, all the keyboards in my apartment), including the one I'm typing on right now. Happy Saturday!pic.twitter.com/p8zIQ14Oj1

1) The brand under the sticky note is Compaq, but maybe it was also sold as HP? Model # SDM4700P 2) Got the dimensions right, but it's not a PowerBook, it's a MacBook Pro. But I can see how they look the same to the untrained eye… https://www.flickr.com/photos/wicho/106790354 … 3) So close!!! E6420

BTW, what is the piece missing that you will now be able to use to distinguish turn-of-the-millennium HP and Compaq keyboards?

Ah, yeah, HP bought Compaq, so there must have been some cross-polination. HP’s top is black! It’s interesting – in my head PowerBook didn’t survive the transition to Intel, but it seems there have been around until 2012.

After looking more, some of the HP *and* Compaq versions had black tops, and other didn’t. Interesting.pic.twitter.com/3R7qZUXWLO

Oh, I see. That's a removeable label. The clear plastic flips up so you can customize the button labels underneath. My version has icons for website shortcut keys, email and info and search, a shopping cart and so on. (I just flipped the label over, since I never used them.)
