There is this mini genre of documentaries: “3–8 minute shorts about old men repairing typewriters.” It’s so interesting to watch a few in the row, and see the similarities and the (big/small) differences in the subjects and in the ways the filmmakers approach their task.

(There are more, but they don’t seem very good.) Despite the movies being made recently, the last two shops are closed, and it’s not tricky to realize the reason: technologies and people sometimes die together.

about 15 or more years ago i was crazy about fixing up old typewriters.. i’ve forgot how pleasant this thing was.. maybe i got to find time for a nice cleanup!
