It’s all shades of gray, of course, but I don’t believe many would say carbon copy/paper as a term/tech in common use. (Case in point: it was the term in this thread suggested by the most people.)

Yeah, it’s a good question! Carbon copy feels like a slightly different thing. Getting a copy in typing was a deliberate decision including inserting sheets of carbon, and with carbon paper it’s automatic? Might be just my feeling.

Some in government or financial agencies (who need things in triplicate) use the paper frequently enough. The modern parlance is “triplicate”, or merely “trips”
