television broadcasters still ask that you "tune in" to programs, despite that no one manually twists UHF/VHF dials for television broadcasts anymore. "tuning in" still holds true for radio however (sort of, most modern radios use presets or they auto-scan)

I think it’s truly egregious that (cable company) DVRs only provide linear fast-forward/rewind, like they’re still using tape. 15/30-second skip is much better, but also much more effective for skipping commercials, so cable companies would never add it
