Large hospitals almost always result in bad urbanism bc they have so many utilitarian constraints (take up lots of space, shuttle people in quickly, etc). They are like factories but must be in populous areas bc have to be very close to humans for obvious accessibility reasons

I find these unexpected convergences fascinating. Someone (in a book) once pointed out how much airports have in common with prisons, and I could never shake it off.
