TFW you suddenly wonder “is there a transit museum in Berlin” on your last full day in the city, you look it up, and turns out 🅐 there is! 🅑 it opens only once a month, and 🅒 the day it’s open is *today.* 😍pic.twitter.com/H9kwA2hHd4

The U-Bahn Museum in Berlin felt like a celebration of tactility: user interface elements all realized exclusively in old-fashioned atoms, made from materials I don’t usually expect to participate in UI-making; a place where even maps, type, and programming came with dimensions. pic.twitter.com/XKs2NWRZW0

Interesting detail the screws on those red and blue button boxes secured with safety-wire and a lead seal. Usually such things are for tamper protection for very strict quality assurance regimes. Then again this is Germany... ^^'

well, now that I think about it for two seconds longer: if those boxes are to do with which train ends up on which track so they don't crash and I'm the guy responsible wiring them correctly I would want to put a seal on them afterwards ^^'
